Council's Responsibilities

	Public Lighting The Council maintains footway lighting within the town, each being numbered from 1-600+ for ease of reporting faults. Telford & Wrekin Council Highway Lights are prefixed with the letter 'Z'.

	Cemetery Newport Council runs and maintains the General Cemetery in Audley Avenue, Newport and also offers in addition to conventional burials, a garden of rest for cremated remains and woodland burials.

	Allotments The Town Council runs 3 allotments sites, 2 at Meadow View Road and 1 at Boughey Road

	Civil Weddings The Guildhall is Licensed for Civil Weddings. Renewal of vows and baby naming ceremonies

	Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) CAB runs an outreach clinic in the Guildhall every Thursday from 09:30 am to 12.30 pm

	Public Toilets Stafford Street Car Park Newport (Salop) Town Council are responsible for the public toilets on the Stafford Street car park.

	Grant Aid The Town Council can make grants to local charitable organisations on submission of a bid letter together with a copy of the organisation's accounts.
